Il Mondo degli Elli is an innovative intervention model designed to train executive functions in children aged 6 to 12.

Developed within the framework of the project, it combines gamification with educational and therapeutic goals. Through an engaging video game, the child guides Ello, a small brain struggling with executive function difficulties, on an adventure through a virtual city. Each neighborhood of the city represents a specific executive function to be trained, such as interference control, inhibition, working memory, and cognitive flexibility. The program, which integrates coding activities, metacognitive videos, and practical exercises, is designed to foster not only learning but also the generalization of skills in everyday life.

Thanks to its adaptive structure, the program is particularly suitable for children with disabilities and special educational needs.

The program was developed as part of the POR-FESR EMILIA-ROMAGNA 2018 COMPRENDO project by a multidisciplinary team, including Carlotta Rivella, Maria Carmen Usai, and Paola Viterbori from the Polo.
